Free expo to showcase services for 50+ group

Vancouver — A 50+ Connections Expo will offer more than 120 exhibits with resources, services and activities geared toward people 50 and older from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 29 at Hilton Vancouver Washington Convention Center, 301 W. Sixth St.

The event is free of charge with a suggested donation for the Human Services Council’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

Exhibits feature information and hands-on activities on travel, recreation, health, nutrition, housing, finances, health resources and other topics.

Health screenings, including blood pressure, lower extremity circulation, lung function, blood glucose and body mass index, also will be available. The event also includes live music and mini-presentations on personal enrichment activities such as laughter yoga.

The event is free. Parking and a shuttle are available at Luepke Center, 1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes and is courtesy of The Bedford and Cascade Inn.

The event is held by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and The Messenger and sponsored by 16 companies, nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
