NEW YORK (AP) -- Laughing, the even-money favorite, rallied to beat Silver Screamer by one length on Friday in the $69,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares on the turf at Aqueduct.
Javier Castellano guided the Irish bred 4-year-old to her third win in six starts, giving Alan Goldberg his 999th training victory. The time was a swift 1:34.85 for the one mile, only 0.25 off the course record set by Tax Dodge in 1985.
Laughing paid $4.30, $2.80 and $2.10 while Silver Screamer returned $3.30 and $2.10. Classical Fashion, $2.20, and Musical Rain, $2.10, finished in a dead heat for third.
