All Squared Away wins Lexington Stakes at 70-1

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- The 70-1 longshot All Squared Away rallied to win the $200,000 Grade 3 Lexington Stakes on Saturday at Keeneland, spoiling the Kentucky Derby chances of Castaway and other horses looking for earnings to make the 20-horse field.

All Squared Away, purchased for $1,000 as a yearling, ran the 1 1/16th miles on the Polytrack in 1:42.55 under Julio Garcia for trainer Wesley Ward. The 3-year-old dark bay gelding stayed near the front and kept pace four wide before taking control in the final furlong and winning by 112 lengths.

All Squared Away paid $143.20, $45.80 and $17. Summer Front returned $5.20 and $4, while Hammers Terror paid $9.40 to show. Castaway, which needed the $120,000 first-prize purse to have enough earnings to make the Derby field, finished ninth.
