COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Brian Ching scored the tying goal in the 81st minute to give the Houston Dynamo a 2-2 draw against the Columbus Crew on Saturday night.

Ching took a pass from the right side by Will Bruin, who had the Dynamo’s first goal in the 59th minute, and slotted the ball past goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum.

Eddie Gaven scored twice for the Crew (2-3-1).

Gaven countered Bruins’ score in the 63rd minute with a toe poke after the Dynamo mishandled a clearance. He then put the Crew ahead 11 minutes later with a strike from 22 yards after Aaron Schonfeld chested the ball to him.

The second-half outburst was uncharacteristic of the teams. Houston (2-1-2) had three goals in its first four games and the Crew entered with four.
