CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose returned to the lineup Saturday night against the Dallas Mavericks after missing the three previous games with a right foot/ankle injury.

Rose, last season’s MVP who has missed 26 games this season with an assortment of injuries, is averaging 22.5 points. He has also been sidelined this season with toe, back and groin injuries. Chicago began play Saturday with a 1 1-2 game lead over Miami for the top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said the Mavericks, who have already clinched a playoff spot, planned to rest guards Jason Kidd and Jason Terry. Rodrigue Beaubois replaced Kidd in the starting lineup.
