GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — A 44-year-old Portland man has been injured while turkey hunting in southern Oregon.
Oregon State Police say 44-year-old Richard Kidd was shot in the legs by his 60-year-old hunting partner early Saturday. The men drove to Providence Medical Center. Troopers say Kidd’s injuries were not life-threatening.
The men were about 70 yards apart while hunting in the Wimer area north of Rogue River when a turkey flew out of its roost in a tree. Lightning and terrain limited visibility.
