LAKEWOOD, Wash. (AP) -- A 40-year-old mental patient at Western State Hospital is accused of killing another patient by stabbing a pen or pencil into his ear.

Lakewood police say responders from West Pierce Fire & Rescue found a 28-year-old man dead in another patient's room Friday afternoon.
