Judge Woolard will run to retain her seat

Published:

Clark County Superior Court Judge Diane Woolard said Monday she will run in this year’s election to retain her seat.

Woolard, 67, has been a Superior Court judge since 2000. Previously a private practice attorney specializing in criminal defense and family law, Woolard was appointed by then-Gov. Gary Locke.

Vancouver private attorney Josephine Townsend, Vancouver’s former city prosecutor, said Friday she planned to run against Woolard instead of the newly appointed judge, Greg Gonzales, whom she initially said she would challenge.

The filing deadline for the position is in May.
