Univ. of Idaho student charged with knife threat

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) -- A 20-year-old University of Idaho sophomore faces an aggravated assault charge after his suite-mate reported he was threatened with a kitchen knife.

Latah County prosecutors allege Stephen G. Carras of Renton, Wash., placed the knife against the neck of another student on April 16 and threatened to kill him.

Court records allege Carras also threatened to carve up the other student. The student told investigators that Carras has a fascination with knives and has been known to cut himself on the arms.

The Moscow-Pullman Daily News (http://bit.ly/JUCs4M ) reports police arrested Carras after he told them he threatened the other student as a joke. Carras is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 10.
