New Spokane school chief to make $240K

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The new head of Spokane Public Schools will be paid $240,000 in pay and benefits, about $17,000 more than her predecessor.

Shelley Redinger has been chosen to replace retiring school superintendent Nancy Stowell, whose last day is June 30.

Based on the most recent data, the highest-paid superintendent in Washington is paid $362,914 to lead the Lake Stevens School District. The second-highest-paid was the leader of Seattle schools, at $295,792, The Spokesman-Review reported.
