SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- Nike's billionaire co-founder, Phil Knight, has opened his wallet for Oregon attorney general candidate Ellen Rosenblum.
The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/K6TbRT ) that Knight contributed $25,000 to Rosenblum's campaign on Monday.
Rosenblum is a former judge who has lagged in fundraising behind former U.S. Attorney Dwight Holton. As of Tuesday, Holton had collected nearly $440,000, compared with $350,000 that Rosenblum had raised before the Knight donation.
Rosenblum spokeswoman Cynara (syn-AHR'-uh) Lilly says the candidate did not meet with Knight.
The candidates will face off in the Democratic primary on May 15.
