GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A skateboard shop’s latest collaboration with Nike has a distinctively Michigan flair.
Grand Rapids-based Premier is set to show off a blue and gray Nike sneaker that features leather embossed with Petoskey stones.
The show is being called the “Petoskey Stone Dunk.”
Premier co-owner Eric Blanding tells the Petoskey News-Review (http://bit.ly/I9SESK ) his store always thought that Michigan’s state stone “would look cool on a shoe.”
Petoskey stones are found in parts of Michigan. Premier plans to roll out the shoe Saturday at its store in Grand Rapids. Nike Inc. is based in Beaverton, Ore.
