Live chat with the Columbian’s web team set for Friday

The Columbian
Published: April 24, 2012, 5:00pm

As Bob Dylan sang, “The times they are a-changin’.” That’s as true as ever here at the Columbian, where we’re happy to announce that John Hill is our new Web Editor.

With the new hire, we figured it was a good time to get feedback about our web efforts: What are we doing right? What are we doing wrong? What can we do differently? What would you like to see from Columbian.com?

To that end, Hill and social media coordinator Matt Wastradowski will take part in a live web chat with readers at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27. Check out the chat page and sign up for an e-mail reminder.

John has worn many hats since joining The Columbian in 1995, including Newsroom systems editor, IT business analyst and database reporter. In recent years, he’s played a role in helping shape the company’s digital strategy, overseen the implementation of the system used to manage columbian.com and managed the rollout last year of the mobile apps and site.

Prior to joining The Columbian, he spent nearly 8 years as a reporter at various newspapers in the Pacific Northwest and as an assistant news editor for Times Information Services, a former subsidiary of The Seattle Times that worked on the company’s prototype online news system.

Sign up for an email reminder at www.columbian.com/chat, and come back on Friday to participate in the event. Login with Facebook, Twitter, OpenID or MySpace will be required to leave questions or comments, but anyone can watch the action.
