NCAA considers delaying some academic changes

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The NCAA's board of directors may put off three key academic changes for one year.
The Committee on Academic Performance says low-resource schools, primarily historically black colleges and universities, should get an additional year to meet the two-year Academic Progress Rate average to be eligible for postseason play next season. Those schools would still be required to meet the four-year average of 900 in 2012-13.
It's unclear whether a vote will be taken Thursday. The board also will consider giving junior college transfers and future recruits an extra year to meet more stringent entrance requirements.
