CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Bulls are playing without Derrick Rose, Luol Deng and Kyle Korver in their regular-season finale against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau decided to rest his key players Thursday night after learning the Bulls will open the playoffs Saturday against either Philadelphia or New York.

“The quick turnaround factors into it,” said Thibodeau. “This is a continuation of the regular season (schedule). Normally you’d have three days off (start of playoffs). “You’ve lost that.”

Chicago already clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference and with a win against Cleveland or a San Antonio loss, the Bulls can clinch the top overall seed in the NBA playoffs.

Rose, the reigning NBA MVP, will sit for the 27th time in 66 games this season.

Thibodeau says Rose “feels great.”
