SEOUL, Korea (AP) — Bernd Wiesberger shot a course record 7-under 65 to take a one-stroke lead after the second-round Friday at the Ballantine’s Championship in South Korea.
Wiesberger took advantage of calm early morning conditions to make seven birdies in a bogey-free round at the Blackstone Golf Course. The 26-year-old Austrian was at 7-under 137 in search of his first European Tour victory.
Marcus Fraser, the 2010 Ballantine’s champion, was at 138 after a 67.
First-round leader Victor Dubuisson had a 75 to slide to six shots off the lead in the event sanctioned by the European and Asian tours.
