HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) — Jurors in Washington County have convicted a 34-year-old man of aggravated murder in the 2010 shooting death of a Tigard, Ore., naturopath.

The Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/zfxnXd ) it took a week of deliberations before jurors reached a verdict Friday in the case of Brian Bement, who was charged in the death of 46-year-old David Greenspan.

Prosecutors told jurors that Bement was a heroin dealer who drove Greenspan to a cemetery under the pretext of making a large drug purchase with Greenspan’s money, then shot and robbed the older man.

The prosecution said Greenspan was addicted to drugs and was an investor in Bement’s heroin business.

Aggravated murder carries a potential death sentence. The sentencing phase of the trial began Friday afternoon.
