JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected Florida State cornerback Mike Harris in the sixth round of the NFL draft.

The Jaguars chose Harris with the 176th overall pick, giving the team a potential backup and a talented special teams player.

Harris, who transferred to FSU from El Camino Community College in California in 2011, had 102 tackles and five interceptions in two seasons with the Seminoles. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Miami native was Florida State’s second-leading tackler last season.

The Jaguars expect Harris to compete for playing time on special teams, and coach Mike Mularkey also said he could be used as a wildcat quarterback. Harris played quarterback for two years at South Miami High School.
