Anglers can start fishing for money beginning Tuesday when the Columbia River northern pikeminnow sport reward program begins its five-month season.

Fishermen are paid $4 per pikeminnow nine inches or larger for the first 100 fish. The reward jumps to $5 for pikeminnows Nos. 101 through 400 and $8 per fish after 400.

There are 20 registration stations stretching from Cathlamet Marina to Clarkston, Wash. Stations in Clark County include Ridgefield Marina, Marine Park boat ramp and Port of Camas-Washougal ramp. The only Skamania County station is at the Beacon Rock State Park boat ramp.

In 2011, there were 24,407 registered anglers who caught 155,057 pikeminnow.
