Northwest Interpreters gets women-owned certification

Vancouver-based Northwest Interpreters Inc. has won certification from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council as a women-owned business. The certification process includes a detailed review to establish that the business is 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by a single woman or a group of women.
Northwest Interpreters Inc. operates a worldwide network of more than 1,000 professional linguists working in 175 languages. Elena Lawler, Northwest Interpreter’s chief executive officer, said the certification will allow the company to expand operations to new markets.
