A 47-year-old man remained in critical condition Saturday from life-threatening injuries he sustained when a vehicle struck him as he crossed Northeast Highway 99 on his bicycle late Friday in Hazel Dell.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Kurt Ludeman of Vancouver after his family had been notified.
Ludeman was crossing west on Northeast Highway 99 near the Northeast 102nd Street intersection at about 8:30 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a 2001 Mazda MPV minivan driven by Jill Johnson, 47, of Vancouver.
Ludeman was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
Alcohol and speeding do not appear to be factors in the collision, according to the sheriff’s office.
The case remains under investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit.
