LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (AP) — The earliest known jersey worn by Babe Ruth, his 1930s Yankees cap owned by former major league pitcher David Wells, and former All-Star Dmitri Young’s baseball card collection are among the items hitting the auction block starting Monday.

The Ruth jersey is expected to fetch in the seven figures, according to Laguna Niguel, Calif.,-based SCP Auctions. The circa-1920s New York Yankees road jersey was worn by Ruth after he joined them from rival Boston.

Wells wore Ruth’s cap in a 1997 game in homage to his idol.

Young’s nearly 500-card collection includes several Hall of Fame rookie cards, with Roberto Clemente, Hank Aaron, Pete Rose and Reggie Jackson among them.

The cap Bobby Thomson wore during his game-winning home run off Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Ralph Branca in the final playoff game of the 1951 season is up for auction for the first time.

Young’s card auction ends May 18. The rest of the auction ends May 19.
