Saginaw wins Belmont’s Carr Heaven Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Saginaw extended his winning streak to four, beating Johannesburg Smile by three lengths on Sunday in the $90,000 Carr Heaven Stakes for New York breds at Belmont Park.

David Cohen was aboard for trainer David Jacobson as the 6-year-old gelding improved to 10 for 26. The time was 1:41.59 for the 1 1/8 miles.

Saginaw paid $13.20, $6.10 and $3.60. Johannesburg Smile returned $5.20 and $3.20 while Star of New York paid $3.80 to show.
