PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — While the Oregon Institute of Technology softball team was playing Saturday in Portland, thieves broke into two school vans and stole IDs, credit cards and laptops.

Coach Greg Stewart says he believes the vans were targeted in an overflow lot at Delta Park because they had the logo of the Klamath Falls institute.

The Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/LRV4hd ) the team planned to leave directly from the park so all of the players’ belongings were inside. In the time before the burglary was discovered more than $2,000 had been charged to three stolen credit cards at stores in the Clackamas Town Center.

Police said Sunday that two stolen backpacks were found near a garbage can in the park, but investigators had no suspects.
