QUETTA, Pakistan (AP) — A police official says a roadside bomb targeting paramilitary troops has killed two civilians in southwestern Pakistan.

Police officer Farid Ullah says 12 civilians were also wounded by Tuesday’s attack in Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province.

Ullah said two vehicles carrying troops from the paramilitary Frontier Corps were damaged. But it was unclear whether any of the soldiers were wounded.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Baluchistan has experienced a decades-long insurgency by nationalists who demand greater autonomy and a larger share of the province’s natural resources. The province is also thought to be home to many Afghan Taliban militants.
