ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan safety Josh Furman has been reinstated to the team, a week after he was found not guilty of assault and other charges.

Coach Brady Hoke announced the decision Monday.

An Ann Arbor, Mich., judge ruled that Furman was not guilty of domestic violence, assault and battery, and illegal entry during a confrontation at an apartment. He was charged with assaulting an ex-girlfriend and another woman as he tried to get to a man he said was sending text messages to him about the former girlfriend.

Hoke says Furman understands the responsibilities and expectations that come with being a student-athlete at the school.

Furman made 10 tackles and blocked a punt last year as a redshirt freshman.
