Portland police prepare for May Day protests

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Portland police say they're prepared for May Day demonstrations and marches, including those without permits.

Police say those breaking the law face citations or arrests.

They also say there may be disruptions to downtown businesses, traffic and TriMet service.

May Day is the traditional day for demonstrations by labor and immigration groups. The Occupy Movement is joining this year's demonstrations.
