Fairway Village — Despite morning rain, some 800 people turned out for the fifth-annual Car Show and Barbecue at Touchmark at Fairway Village. There were 30 classic and cool cars, and the event raised $1,550 for Loaves & Fishes' Meals on Wheels program. All car-show entrants were included in a drawing for "luck of the draw" awards. Among the winners was Craig Atkins, Jr. of Vancouver with his 1965 Chevy Impala. Dawn Coonrod of Vancouver and her 1933 Willys Coupe won the People's Choice Award. Touchmark at Fairway Village is a full-service retirement community.
