Port of Camas-Washougal sets groundbreaking event
Thursday, August 2, 2012
The Port of Camas-Washougal will convene a groundbreaking ceremony Aug. 16 to highlight infrastructure improvements to be made to a portion of the port's 120-acre Steigerwald Commerce Center.
Officials will gather at 10 a.m. at South Truman Road and 37th Street at the port's industrial park, which is next to the planned new development. The first phase of the infrastructure improvements — made possible through a $1.5 million grant provided by the state as part of a larger budget package — includes building a 2,500-foot street into the Steigerwald property.
The improvements will make 30 to 40 acres of the property available for industrial development. The Steigerwald site is believed to be the largest chunk of industrially zoned property held by a single owner in Clark County.
