Washington State University Vancouver nursing students and staff will hold their eighth annual Clark County Sports Physical Exam Clinic this month.

The clinic will run from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at the La Center High School gym, 725 Highland Road. Physicals cost $20; fees support WSU Vancouver nursing scholarships.

Students from middle and high schools are invited to attend. No appointment is necessary.

The exam includes an overview of the student’s medical history and a head-to-toe physical exam. Students should wear comfortable clothes and bring their physical forms with a parent or guardian’s signature.

WSU Vancouver family nurse practitioner students administer the exams. These students are licensed registered nurses working toward their master’s degrees to become primary care providers.

Sports physicals are required by a variety of camps, organized sports and organizations such as the Boy and Girl Scouts of America. Physical exams typically cost $50 to $100 at a doctor’s office.
