DE Anderson doesn’t mind being Bills ‘Other Guy’

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Mark Anderson has no problem being regarded as “the other guy” among Buffalo Bills offseason free-agent additions.

It’s no knock to be overshadowed by fellow newcomer and defensive end Mario Williams. After all, he is 6-foot-6, 292 pounds, and is the proud owner of a six-year, $100 million contract. So, you can understand why Williams has captured much of the attention in Buffalo.

Anderson’s objective is simply fitting in after signing a comparatively modest four-year, $27 million contract in March, a week after the Bills landed Williams. Where Anderson draws the line, though, is when Williams playfully suggests he’ll be the one who leads the Bills in sacks this season.

Anderson isn’t counting himself out.

The two proven pass-rushers are preparing to open a friendly competition to see who might win that title on a defensive line that’s been retooled with the objective to pressure opposing quarterbacks.
