PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix says free agent safety Jim Leonhard is visiting with the team for a second day and has taken his physical.

Nix provided no other update Friday morning on the team’s interest in signing Leonhard, who spent the past three seasons with the New York Jets. Leonhard arrived at Bills training camp Thursday and watched practice from the sideline.

Leonhard’s playing status is uncertain after he had surgery in December to repair a torn tendon in his right knee.

The seven-year veteran broke into the NFL with Buffalo in 2005 after making the roster as an undrafted rookie free agent. He spent three seasons with the Bills before playing one season with Baltimore.

Nix has previously said that he’s interested in adding an experienced safety.
