DETROIT (AP) — The Cleveland Indians have activated designated hitter Travis Hafner from the paternity list.

Cleveland optioned utilityman Vinny Rottino to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday to make room for Hafner on the 25-man roster.

The Indians have lost seven straight and trail the first-place Chicago White Sox by 8 12 games in the AL Central entering Saturday night’s game at Detroit.

Hafner has hit .230 with 10 home runs in 59 games this year. He hasn’t played since Tuesday.

Rottino has hit .158 this season with Cleveland and the New York Mets.
