Questions raised about depth of Bills WR group

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Injuries and inconsistency have raised lingering questions about how much depth the Buffalo Bills have at receiver 10 days into training camp.

Coach Chan Gailey raised a hint of concern Saturday. Gailey was surprised by how the team’s backup receivers failed to step up after regulars Stevie Johnson (groin) and David Nelson (sprained knee) missed practice.

The good news is the injuries to the team’s top two returning receivers are minor. With the Bills taking a day off Sunday, both players have a chance to return to practice Monday.

The bad news for the Bills is they suddenly find themselves not much further along than they were when they opened camp in determining who will fill secondary roles.

Gailey says they have a lot of work to do.
