KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray says Justin Hunter, who tore a ligament in his left knee last September, “is looking better than ever” in preseason practice.

Hunter was leading the Southeastern Conference in receiving when he tore his ACL in a loss at Florida.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound junior believes he is a better player now than he was last year because of an offseason of watching film and training in the weight room.

Sunday was the Volunteers’ first day in full pads and the third and final split-squad practice between the team’s veterans and newcomers.
