ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Like most NFL rookies, Riley Reiff’s training camp improvement has been slow, but steady.

Each day provides the Detroit Lions’ first-round draft pick the chance to learn from veterans who push the rookie that the Lions are building around up front.

Reiff worked with reserves on Monday, spending extra time after practice on individual drills. But the constant drilling has paid off as Reiff has impressed coach Jim Schwartz.

Also defensive end Cliff Avril made his camp debut Monday after ending his nine-day holdout Sunday.
