Ducky Derby raises $18,000

Camas-Washougal — The Camas-Washougal Rotary Club's 18th annual Ducky Derby raised more than $18,000 on July 29. The race kicked off with a front loader dumping 3,000 plastic ducks off the Third Avenue bridge. Twelve minutes later, the first ducky crossed the finish line and won a prize for its sponsor. Event proceeds help fund high school scholarships and service projects including Santa's Posse, Backpack Project, Dictionaries for Third Graders, SHARE House, Youth Exchange, Polio Eradication, Meals on Wheels, Young Women in Action and Walk and Knock.
