40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, Family of Christ Lutheran Church, 3500 N.W. 129th St., will celebrate 40 years of ministry on the second Sunday of the next five months. Guest pastors will preach beginning with the founding pastor, Phil Yokers, who will speak at 9 a.m. 360-901-8300.

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL, 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Orchards United Methodist Church, 11000 N.E. Fourth Plain Road. Children in grades kindergarten through sixth grade are welcome. SHALOM CHAPTER OF HADASSAH, VANCOUVER will be selling 8-ounce gift jars of kosher honey that will be shipped in time for Rosh Hashana, Sept. 17. Cost is $10 per jar, $9 per jar for orders of 25 or more, including shipping and personal gift cards. All proceeds will benefit Hadassah projects in Israel and the U.S. Payment must be received by Tuesday, Aug. 14. It is Rosh Hashanah tradition to dip apples in honey to usher in the New Year.
