China’s divers 1-2 in men’s 10M Olympic prelims

LONDON (AP) — Qui Bo of China led the 10-meter platform preliminaries and teammate Lin Yue was second, putting the country in position to claim the last diving gold medal of the London Olympics.

Qui took the lead for good after the second of six dives and totaled 563.70 points Friday night. He is the current world platform champion.

Lin was as low as seventh before rallying on his final three dives to finish second at 532.15 in a field loaded with big names. Sascha Klein of Germany was third at 525.05.

The top 18 divers advanced to the Saturday’s semifinal, with the final in the evening.
