PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Kellen Heard limped off and did not return after hurting his lower right leg midway through practice Tuesday night.

Coach Chan Gailey had no immediate update except to say Heard was having tests. Gailey said backup offensive tackle James Carmon was also having tests after the undrafted rookie hurt his wrist.

Heard, who is competing for a backup job, was hurt during a team drill when he went down in a pile of players. He was slow getting up, and then limped off into the end zone. That’s where trainers spent about five minutes examining the player’s foot and ankle before escorting him to the locker room.

Coming off a preseason-opening 7-6 loss to Washington, the Bills play at Minnesota on Friday.
