Lions CB Houston doesn’t feel pressure of big role

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Detroit Lions cornerback Chris Houston says he doesn’t feel any pressure about his role with the team.

It’s a big one.

Houston appears to be one of the most valuable players the Lions (No. 11 in the AP Pro32) have, especially on defense. He has experience and talent in a secondary that desperately needs it.

Rookie cornerback Bill Bentley is projected to start opposite Houston. Veteran safety Louis Delmas struggles to stay healthy.

Houston says he tries to establish his dominance each game so teams know he will pick off or deflect passes thrown his way. The mindset helped Houston make a career-high five interceptions last year in his fifth NFL season.
