PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills backup defensive tackle Kellen Heard returned to practice Wednesday a day after hurting his lower right leg.

Coach Chan Gailey said tests came back negative and added that Heard should be ready to play in the Bills’ second preseason game at Minnesota on Friday.

Backup offensive tackle James Carmon missed practice a day after hurting his right wrist. Gailey called the injury “a tweak,” and added there’s a possibility the undrafted rookie could play Friday.

The Bills broke training camp in suburban Rochester after holding a closed-to-the-public practice Wednesday morning. They’ll spend the rest of the preseason practicing at their headquarters in Orchard Park.
