CORTLAND, N.Y. (AP) — Bart Scott has high expectations for Mark Sanchez, saying he wants the New York Jets quarterback to “take the next step” of becoming one of the top 10 players at his position.

The linebacker says Wednesday that there is a noticeable difference in how Sanchez carries himself as a leader this season, the quarterback’s fourth in the NFL. Scott says Sanchez “sticks that chest out like a peacock and I think that really shows confidence.”

Scott adds that Baltimore’s Joe Flacco made a jump in his fourth season, and “you could see Mark do the same.”

Cornerback Darrelle Revis says the entire team is “counting on Mark” to show significant progress, and “if we lose, it falls on Mark. If we win, it falls on Mark.”
