Lubash wins West Point Stakes at Saratoga

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Lubash beat Minnie Punt by 1 3/4 lengths Thursday in the $150,000 West Point Stakes for New York-bred horses at Saratoga Race Course.

Jose Lezcano rode the Christophe Clement-trained 5-year-old, who ran 1 1/16 miles over the inner turf course in 1:43.61. Lubash earned $90,000 for Ben J Aliyu Stable.

He paid $9.50, $6.40 and $3. Minnie Punt returned $12.60 and $5.10. Compliance Officer, the heavy favorite and third of eight, paid $2.10 to show.
