SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -- Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick praised the Big East's hiring of former CBS executive Mike Aresco to be the league's new commissioner.
The Big East also recently enlisted media consultant Chris Bevilacqua to help Aresco negotiate a new television contract.
Swarbrick said the two personnel moves made a "statement with an aggressive view of the Big East's future."
Notre Dame is a football independent but competes in the Big East in most other sports, including men's and women's basketball.
