Letter: Mud-slinging is in full force

The Columbian
Published: August 17, 2012, 5:00pm

It’s only August, neither party has officially nominated a candidate for president and the mud-slinging is sickening.

Senate President Harry Reid claims the word is out that Mitt Romney hasn’t paid any income tax for the last 10 years. Reid refused to tell us who said “the word.” This accusation comes from the man who is responsible for supplying the nation with a budget every year but somehow has forgotten this duty for over three years now.

One good turn deserves another.

The word is out that President Obama refused to show anyone a transcript of his college grades, his passport record and his visa activity. Whose passport did he use to visit a country when such a visit was forbidden by Uncle Sam?

Oh, let’s not overlook Reid. I’m sure he’d like to tell us how he got to be a millionaire on Nevada real estate.

I wonder if his hometown of Searchlight, Nev., rings any bells.

One good turn deserves another.
