BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana quarterback Tre Roberson has spent the entire offseason working on a new, more traditional style.

He’ll get a chance to show fans his new image Saturday night against Indiana State.

At the urging of coach Kevin Wilson and his staff, the fleet-footed sophomore is trying to shed the image of a run-first guy who throws with more accuracy and more efficiency.

Wilson had no choice after two veteran starters, Dusty Kiel and Edward Wright-Baker, transferred, fourth-string quarterback Teddy Schell graduated and prized recruit Gunner Kiel, Dusty’s younger brother, decided not to attend Indiana.

That left Roberson, the incumbent starter, as the only player on the roster to throw a pass at the Football Bowl Subdivision level. The Hoosiers embarked on a transformation that Roberson has embraced.
