Vancouver police last week arrested two men in connection with the theft of several bicycles from Bike Clark County.

Robert Smith, 27, and Jory John Aultman, 19, were arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary and trafficking stolen property on Aug. 21, according to a Vancouver police news release. Smith and Aultman’s addresses were not available, police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

The bikes were reported stolen from the Hough Pool at 1801 Esther St. on Aug. 9. Police believe 29 bikes were stolen from the building sometime between Aug. 6 and 7. Vancouver police’s West Neighborhood Response Team took over the investigation and made the arrest.

Only one bicycle was recovered.

Anyone with information on the stolen bicycles or the burglary is asked to call Detective Adam Millard at 360-487-7449.
