Paving of Southeast 164th Avenue was delayed due to issues grinding the old asphalt surface, according to the city of Vancouver.

Private crews will finish grinding southbound lanes on Sept. 5-7 and pave between Sept. 10-14. Grinding of northbound lanes will resume Sept. 16-21. Paving of those lanes is scheduled for Sept. 24-28. Work is scheduled to happen between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays to avoid traffic impacts.

A thin layer of asphalt was added to streets where old layers were removed, the city said.

The paving work is tied to a project to improve the east Vancouver arterial.

Paving is weather dependent and may be rescheduled.
