Boys basketball: Tualatin 85, Union 84

Joey Fishback made one of two foul shots with no time left to win the game for the host Timberwolves.

The fourth quarter was back and forth after Tualtin used some hot shooting in the third quarter to erase most of a 14-point Titans’ halftime lead. The Timberwolves made six 3-pointers in a four-minute span of the third quarter to close the gap, and finished with 32 third-quarter points after scoring only 30 in the first half.

Kyle Mercer scored 18 points to top a balanced score sheet for the Titans (2-1). Micah Paulson scored 17 points, and Tyler Copp and Trent Cowan each finished with 15.

Tualatin attempted 15 more free throws than Union, outscoring the Titans by 13 points from the foul line.
